Privacy Policy
Prepared in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Overview
This policy explains what personal information Infinitie Consol Team (Pty) Ltd, trading as Infinitie Consulting ("we", "us", "the Responsible Party"), collects through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Responsible Party & Information Officer
The Responsible Party for personal information processed via this website is Infinitie Consol Team (Pty) Ltd. Our contact details are published in our Legal Notice. Where no Information Officer has been separately appointed and registered with the Information Regulator, the most senior executive of the company serves as Information Officer by default, per POPIA. Direct any data protection query, request, or concern to the contact details in our Legal Notice.
What Personal Information We Collect
What we collect directly: information you provide yourself, such as your name, email address, and message content when you submit our contact form.
What we collect automatically: standard technical data generated by your browser when you visit the site (such as browser type and operating system). This website does not currently use tracking or analytics cookies; if that changes, this policy will be updated first.
Why we collect it, and whether it's mandatory: contact form fields are collected solely to respond to your enquiry. Providing them is voluntary, but we won't be able to respond to your enquiry without your name, email address, and message.
The Eight Conditions for Lawful Processing
POPIA Chapter 3 sets out eight conditions a Responsible Party must meet when processing personal information. Here is how we apply each one:
- Accountability: we are responsible for ensuring our processing complies with all conditions set out in this policy.
- Processing Limitation: we only process personal information lawfully, minimally, and with your consent (e.g. by submitting our contact form).
- Purpose Specification: we collect personal information for the specific, explicit purpose of responding to your enquiry, and no other.
- Further Processing Limitation: we do not use your information for any purpose incompatible with why it was collected.
- Information Quality: we take reasonable steps to keep any personal information we hold complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Openness: this policy documents what we collect, why, and how, in line with our POPIA notification duty under section 18.
- Security Safeguards: we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure. Note that no transmission over the internet (e.g. email) can be guaranteed fully secure.
- Data Subject Participation: you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time (see Your Rights below).
Your Rights Under POPIA
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Be notified of what personal information is being collected and why (this policy).
- Request confirmation, free of charge, of whether we hold personal information about you, and to access it.
- Request that we correct, delete, or destroy personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or unlawfully obtained.
- Object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds, including for direct marketing.
- Not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects you.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (contact details below) if you believe we have processed your information unlawfully.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in our Legal Notice.
Contact Form Submissions
Details you submit via our contact form are used solely to respond to your enquiry and for reasonable follow-up communication related to it. This information is not sold or shared with third parties, except where necessary to respond to your specific request or where required by law.
Contact form submissions are delivered directly to our inbox by a mail script running on our own web server. No third-party form or email relay service is used, so your name, email address, and message are never passed through an outside processor to reach us.
